Ms. Yuanxia Liu has rich skills in developing practical and effective strategies and action plans in accordance with clients’ situation, needs and interests, and has successfully provided professional services for clients in many cases of patent infringement and invalidation litigation. She is very good at combining investigations, court proceedings and litigation, in which she fully considers the legal stability of patent rights and assess the impact of patent infringement in an effective way. Meanwhile, she has written many applications for domestic enterprises, and received numerous favorable comments from clients on the construction of patent layout and the scope of patent protection.

After founding Origintelligence, Ms. Liu has handled nearly 300 cases of patent infringement and invalidation litigation, mainly medical chemistry cases, including some difficult and classic cases. Some of them were evaluated as iconic cases of intellectual property rights. Moreover, she has advised nearly 300 cases on FTO analysis, validity analysis, authorized prospective analysis, patent layout and trade secret analysis.

Prior to founding Origintelligence, Ms. Liu was a former partner and patent consultant at JINCHENG TONGDA & NEAL Law Office. She had provided versatile patent-related legal services in various fields (including pharmaceutical, chemical engineering, electronics and mechanics, etc.) for international and domestic enterprises. Ms. Liu had dealt with 100 cases of patent infringements, patent invalidity, patent ownership and trade secrets, some of which were evaluated as typical cases of intellectual property rights. Moreover, she had advised nearly 100 cases on patent-related legal matters including freedom-to-operate, infringement analysis, validity analysis, authorized prospective analysis, patentability and patent strategy.

Ms. Liu’s intellectual property career can be tracked back in 2002, when she worked at the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) for seven years. Owing to her outstanding performance in working, she was selected to be as a people’s juror in the Beijing First Intermediate People’s Court, where she participated in nearly 120 cases concerning patent reexamination, invalidation and infringement. 

During working at CNIPA, Ms. Liu served as the director of organic chemistry office. At that position, she accumulated rich experience in patent examination of domestic and PCT patent applications, as well as unique literature retrieval and analysis ability. Altogether, she dealt with more than 600 patent applications, and also given lectures of patent search for junior patent examiner for several years.

Ms. Liu has published numerous influential articles on intellectual property rights in the core journals.
