Helen is the head of Zhong Lun’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Committee and the co-head of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department. In addition to the New York bar, Helen possesses both Chinese bar and Chinese patent bar qualifications. She holds a master’s degree in bioengineering and an LL.M. from Stanford Law School. She also has a strong technical background in the life sciences.

Helen has abundant experience in the life sciences and intellectual property practice. She frequently advises pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies on a variety of regulatory, commercial and intellectual property issues, including clinical trials, drug registration, market entrance, pricing, drug labeling and package, advertising and promotional activities, technology licensing and transfers, enforcement, and industry-specific compliance issues.

Helen has many years of first-hand Chinese litigation experience and has represented a number of influential and high-profile IP litigation cases in China. Most recently, she represented a Switzerland company in its patent infringement suit against a Chinese company, which resulted in a landmark decision by the Shanghai High Court.

Helen was recognised by Chambers & Partners as an “Outstanding Young Partner” in 2014, a “Leading Lawyer for Healthcare” (2015-2020) and a “Leading Lawyer for IP Litigation” (2014-2020). She was also named as a “Highly Recommended Lawyer” for healthcare 2018-2020 by Legal 500.  In addition, she was recognised by Intellectual Asset Management for consecutive four years from 2016 to 2020 as an “IAM Patent 1000- The World’s Leading Patent Professionals", and was recognised in 2016 by Asian Legal Business as one of the “China Top 15 IP Lawyers”. Helen is an adjunct professor of the East China University of Politics and Law and the Koguan School of Law, Shanghai Jiaotong University.  She has published numerous articles on regulatory development and IP protection in life sciences industry in China in a number of influential periodicals and magazines.
