Providing legal advice on all issues affecting Company business and developing legal strategies to support business initiatives. 
Developing, implementing, and executing a global intellectual property strategy for Company’s products and product candidates. 
Building up and developing Company’s intellectual property system to ensure alignment of intellectual property and business strategies. 

Dr. Tian has wide experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the US and foreign countries, managing worldwide patent portfolios, and performing due diligence analysis on patents.  In addition, he provides counsel on issues worldwide in IP transactions, drafts and negotiates IP license agreements for the use and transfer of patents and other IP rights, and conducts IP due diligence for alliances and financings. Dr. Tian was a patent attorney at a national law firm and a startup law firm.  Prior to becoming an attorney, Dr. Tian was an academic research scientist, having received his Ph.D. from the Department of Biology at the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied the repair of neuronal lesions using imaging and transgenic technologies. As a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, he elucidated the molecular recognition events between pre- and postsynaptic nerve cells during synapse formation.
